We have a wide selection of accommodation and can tailor our rooms to meet individual requirements and preferences.
We provide spacious, well equipped comfortable rooms with flat screen digital TV/DVD player with the choice of over 30 channels and radio stations. Most have ensuite facilities or wet rooms. We encourage our residents to personalize their rooms with their own items of furniture and other personal belongings.
Divine Care Centre is equipped with the latest moving and handling equipment to assist in the safe transfer of residents with mobility problems. Specialist beds and pressure relieving devices are also provided for those requiring their use.
Divine Care Centre has a variety of communal areas and outdoor spaces for residents to relax in and socialise. There are a number of dining areas where residents can share a relaxed dining experience with friends or family and enjoy a glass of wine if they wish. If preferred residents can dine in the quieter surroundings of their own room, or in the gardens during summer months.
The extensive peaceful gardens at Divine Care Centre are private with sensitively planned wheelchair access. The gardens are beautifully landscaped and are the perfect spot for reading a good book or relaxing with friends and a cup of tea.
All residents at Divine Care Centre will be assigned a qualified Registered Nurse or Key Worker who will draw up, with you or your relatives an individual care plan identifying your individual needs and planning the care you should receive by whom and when. Your plan of care should be agreed with you and will be reviewed at least monthly or more often should your needs change.
At Divine Care Centre you will keep your chosen GP if the home is within his/her locality. If you do not have a GP or need to re-register, we can register you with a local practice. The GP’s visit the home when required and at your request.
At Divine Care Centre staff offer a warm welcome to all visitors, both friends and family. Visiting hours are unrestricted and whilst visiting hospitality can be provided by way of refreshments. For visitors wishing to dine with residents some notice is required if possible.
Divine Care Centre has a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator, who provides a wide range of daily therapeutic and leisure activities, such as games in the garden, karaoke afternoons and cooking. All residents who have a special interest or hobby are encouraged and, if practicable, facilitated to enable them to continue. We regularly provide special entertainment from external entertainers and commemorate special days and events through out the year. We also organise outings to local sites and visitor attractions and encourage individual activities such as painting and knitting. Each month a social calendar is displayed showing a program of activities available. Our activities co-ordinator spends time with residents on an individual basis reading newspapers to and with them and helping with their post. In addition, rooms also have flat screen TV’s/DVD players with a choice of over 30 channels and radio stations for residents’ comfort and convenience. Residents can choose a movie from movie library of classic films and musicals.
At Divine Care Centre we pride ourselves on our excellent cuisine. A varied selection of home-made, nutritious and delicious dishes are available daily for selection. We use fresh good quality ingredients, some of which is sourced locally. Our superb in-house chef is available to discuss your menu preferences with you. Naturally we cater for most special dietary needs.
The hairdresser comes once a week and the chiropodist attends every six weeks. If you would like these services please let us know. These are not included in your fees.
We have a visiting physiotherapist should you wish a consultation.
All residents and their families are invited to attend a Christian church service once a month in the Home. It is important to all at Divine Care Centre that the spiritual needs of our residents are met. Personal visits from clergy are always welcomed and communion can be arranged, if required.
The laundry service is included in your fees, with the exception of dry cleaning, which can be arranged but is subject to an additional charge. The Housekeeper is available to discuss with you any special requests that you may have in this area.
At Divine Care Centre we strive to improve the services we offer our residents and relatives and welcome any suggestions for changes and comments that you may have. In addition, we have in place a complaints procedure, which can be found in the Resident Guide.
The residents meeting is held every month and is chaired by the Home Manager all residents are invited to attend. The running of the Home is discussed from the residents’ point of view and all ideas are welcomed. Residents are encouraged to invite their advocate/family to attend with them.
Alcohol consumption is accepted on a social basis and is served as an aperitif prior to, or with lunch (wine & sherry). Divine Care Centre has a ‘No Smoking’ Policy and smoking is not permitted anywhere within the home but is allowed in a designated area in the grounds.
The home is fitted with an automatic fire alarm system, which is subject to weekly testing. The system is fitted with an automatic door closing system that will activate and close all doors in the event of a fire. The team at Divine Care Centre has a well-established reputation for providing nursing care and care for the elderly to the very highest standards. Our main mission is to promote a friendly and relaxing atmosphere of care and support which both encourages and enables our residents to live a fulfilled and interesting life, whilst providing professional nursing and personal care.
